Gukesh's Queen's Indian Breaks Brunello
Featured is an instructive chess game between Sabino Brunello (Italy) and Gukesh D (India) from Round 3 of the 2026 Chess Olympiad, held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Arising from the Queen's Indian Defense, we observe the line with 4...Ba6. Brunello defends the c-pawn with Nbd2, and play is quickly directed toward d4. This pressure on the center ultimately allows Gukesh to obtain a central majority after seven moves, with a hanging pawns structure soon to follow.
